Description

Changes to South Africa’s main transformation piece of legislation are coming. Employers and the community of HR practitioners had better understand the ramifications, and Government’s intention, to ramp up transformation efforts nationally. The Seminar will focus on eight (8) changes to the legislation in these critical areas:

  1. Ministerial Intervention
  2. Regulatory Impact on Smaller Businesses
  3. Equitable Representation
  4. Section 15 A
  5. Numerical Targets
  6. Certificate of Compliance
  7. Sectorial Targets
  8. The Employment Equity Commission

An important consideration will be in which sectors are identified by the Minister and what targets are determined, how they are determined and to which employers in the sector they will apply.

The second part of the seminar focus on Draft Code of Good Practice on the Prevention and Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the World of Work

The Draft Code expands substantially on the different types of violence that an employee may experience in the workplace and what steps employers are required to take to deal with these forms of violence. The Draft Code lists four forms of violence and harassment in the workplace, namely;

  • Sexual violence and harassment;
  • Racial, ethnic, or social origin violence and harassment;
  • Workplace bullying;
  • and Protected disclosures.

Attending this seminar is vital if you want to be at the forefront of changes to legislation that affect employers and employees.
