Fire Fighting

The course covers the following content:

• Accredited – 2 CPD Points
• This course will instruct the attendee on the Department of Labour (DOL) and Occupational Health & Safety Act 85 of 1993 regarding the team training ratio requirement of 1 fire warden to 50
employees
• Which also applies to firefighting training requirement.

About the workshop

Every year uncontrolled fires claim millions in property loss, damage and negatively impact communities with the devastating loss of life.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act and Municipal City By-Laws require companies to ensure that their health and safety team members and staff are trained and competent in operating firefighting equipment.

The course covers the following content:

• Introduction to fire
• Causes of fire and fire prevention
• Fire detection and reporting methods
• Firefighting equipment
• Operating the extinguisher & evacuation procedures
• Burn wound treatment
• Rescue Carry methods

The Presenter

Courses are presented by paramedics and firefighters with operational experience in the emergency services who understand the importance of extinguishing a fire quickly and thoroughly!

Municipal and City By-Laws require companies / employers to ensure that their staff are trained and competent in the use of firefighting equipment such as extinguisher and hose reels

Certificates are issued after successful completion of a theoretical and practical competency assessment.
