Description
This generic unit standard is for people who conduct internal or external moderation of outcomes-based assessments. The assessments could be in terms of outcomes defined in a number of documents, including but not limited to unit standards, exit level outcomes, assessment standards, curriculum statements, and qualifications.
The Moderator training course will further your understanding of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and will help you in developing your skills and acquiring a variety of qualifications within the fields of Education Training and Development Practices and Human Resource Development. Those who have achieved this unit standard will be able to moderate assessments in terms of the relevant outcome statements and quality assurance requirements. The candidate-moderator will be able to use the prescribed Quality Assurance procedures in a fair, valid, reliable, and practicable manner that is free of all bias and discrimination, paying particular attention to the three groups targeted for redress: race, gender and disability.

MOD – Moderator
  • Demonstrate understanding of moderation within the context of an outcomes-based assessment system,
  • Plan and prepare for moderation,
  • Conduct moderation,
  • Advise and support assessors,
  • Report, record and administer moderation
  • Review moderation systems and processes.
 Certification upon successful completion
  • ATG: Conduct Moderation on outcomes-based assessment Provider Certificate
  • Statement of Results on successful submission of Portfolio of Evidence & registration with ETDP SETA.

Bruce Laishley

Bruce is a qualified ODETDP Practitioner with over 27 years facilitating experience.  He specialises in the following training fields:  Education Training and Development, Computer Literacy, Project Management, Generic Management, Wholesale and Retail and Business Administration Services.  Bruce is also a registered Assessor and Moderator with the ETDP SETA for the full ODETDP Qualification, SAQA ID US50334.  Bruce is also a registered Skills Development Facilitator with the ETDP SETA.

This course is being facilitated in partnership with Academy Training Group, which has over 24 years of experience in the Education and Training industry! Academy Training Group is registered with the Department of Higher Education (DHET) with registration nr 2010/FE07/045.
