THE EE RETAINER SOLUTION
Aims of EE retainer
The retainer is aimed at enabling SEIFSA members to focus on their business by providing them with continuous specialist consulting and practical support that will ensure that EE is practiced and managed in manner that will ensure full EE compliance, the avoidance of fines, and once Sector Targets are in place, the inclusion of Management Control in members’ B-BBEE scorecards, and the retention of State contracts.
EE assistance in the EE retainer offered by SEIFSA through its alliance partner EES-SIYAKHA
The following EE assistance is included in the retainer:
- An assessment of members’ EE Compliance including recommendation to address these.
- The facilitation of the conducting of the Section 19 Analysis, and development of a fully compliant and meaningful EE Plan, aimed at negating the risk posed by Sector Targets, anytime during the duration of the three-year period of the retainer (optional).
- Equity Pro Lite Module license fee and access thereto for the three-year duration of the retainer.
- Monthly importing of members’ Workforce Profile data received from members to ensure that ‘real time’ EE data is available to members’ Managers and HR when making appointments so as to enable them to identify the most underrepresented race and gender groups to target for appointment according to their EE Plan based on the gap between such real time data and their EE Plan – to negate the risk of being found in D-G Reviews not to have made sufficient progress in achieving their EE Goals and Targets.
- Three hours training for Line Managers and HRBPs on Equity Pro to enable them to identify the above gaps.
- Two-day EE Training session for EE Committee (EEC) members during the retainer.
- Preparation for, and attendance (and Chairing if required) of, quarterly EEC and EE Management meetings to ensure that EE is properly and effectively implemented, and monitored
- A further one hour assistance (if < 1000 employees), or two hours (if >1000 employees), per month which includes assistance in the setting up of EE Committees, monthly meetings, overseeing the effective usage of Equity Pro by members in making appointments, ensuring the effective management of EE and dealing with the DEL if targeted for D-G Review.
- Annual preparation of EEA2 and EEA4 reports for submission to the DEL.
Retainer period
The retainer being offered to members is offered for a period of 3 years on the basis of members subscribing to the retainer paying the monthly retainer fees to SEIFSA set out below.

The facilitation of Section 19 analysis and development of a compliant and meaningful EE Plan
EES-SIYAKHA’s above assistance ensures that the process followed is fully consultative, and that a compliant and meaningful EE Plan is developed, aimed at negating the risk of being fined 2% of turnover, and once in force, the above risks posed by Sector Targets.
