About the training
This training will equip participants with the knowledge needed to manage disciplinary processes and dismissals fairly, efficiently and effectively, helping them to avoid costly mistakes.
The training will delve into:
- How to chair fair disciplinary hearings and ensure fair dismissals;
- Procedural and substantive fairness;
- Admissible evidence; and
- Ensuring a fair verdict and penalty.
It will also look at the Labour Relations Act and the Code of Good Practice on Dismissals and how they guide disciplinary processes.
Michael Lavender is SEIFA’s Industrial Relations Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree majoring in Industrial Psychology and Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, formerly the University of Natal. He has extensive knowledge and experience in labour law and industrial relations.
