About the workshop
The ratio of trained first aiders is 1:50, so 1 trained first aider to every 50 employees.
Courses are presented by registered paramedics with operational experience in the emergency services who understand the importance and benefit of rendering quality first aid on-scene.
First Aid Level 1 is also a Department of Labour (DOL) and Occupational Health & Safety Act 85 of 1993 requirement, that all employers have DOL accredited first aid trainers on-site at the workplace
The course covers the following content:
• Introduction and basic principles of first aid
• Terminology, positioning, and anatomy
• Emergency scene and patient assessment
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and choking
• Bleeding and wounds
• Fractures and sprains
• Head injuries, spinal injuries, and shock

Our instructors are all qualified paramedics registered with the HPCSA and accredited against the unit standards that they are presenting with the SETA. You will receive an accredited level 1 first aid certificate within 10 working days from the day of completion! The first aid level 1 course is conducted over 2 days and will be valid for a period of 3 years
Certificates are issued after successful completion of a theoretical and practical competency assessment.
