The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA) seeks to
appoint a Sales Officer on a contractual basis for a year.
The candidate is expected to have experience as a Sales Officer and will be required to
sell company products, services and events through both direct and indirect selling.
These include but are not limited to :
- cold calling,
- regular company visits,
- as well as contacting targeted clients based on specific campaigns launched and
executed through marketing team/process.
The successful candidate must hold a grade 12/Matric, relevant Sales Certification/ Unit
Standard qualification and a valid Driver’s License with a minimum of 2/3 years’ in a
Corporate/business Sales environment and must be computer literate.
It is essential that the candidate is well organised and disciplined, has the ability to work
autonomously and under pressure, is accountable and reliable, is a problem solver, has
good marketing and public relations skills and strong analytical and communication
skills(written and verbal). The candidate must also have the ability to work independently
with minimum supervision, to be resourceful and have the ability to manage time their
The Sales Officer’s wide range of responsibilities within the Sales Division will include:
- Sell company products
- Make regular calls to existing customers and cold calls on potential new customers
- Achieve SEIFSA’s budget
- Monitor sales against budget
- Visit Customers
- Read relevant Sales literature
- Assist at trade shows and corporate events
- Keep record of new contacts and update CRM system accordingly
