Payroll Officer

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications
• National Diploma or Degree in HR Management
• Payroll qualification advantageous

Experience Required
• 5 years’ experience in a similar position
• Previous experience working on VIP Payroll is essential
• Experience working with payroll in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with maintaining time and attendance system

• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills
• Goal orientated, organised team player

• Knowledge of South African Labour Law such as LRA, BCEA, EE and SD Act
• Accounting for payroll transactions
• Computer Literate (Advanced knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, VIP Premier or People 300)

• Efiling and Easy Filing
• Biometric Systems


Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for running the full payroll cycle including all tax submissions
• Month end schedules for Bargaining Council
• Ensure accurate payroll documentation (scheduled and/or ad hoc) is sent through to Finance within agreed deadlines and follow-up on queries and outstanding issues
• Weekly payroll and monthly salaries
• Ensure timely distribution of payslips
• Ensure employee expense claims submitted timeously with payroll
• SARS submission for UIF, SDL AND PAYE
• Payroll reconciliations
• Leave administration and reconciliations
• Provide input into the HR report
