Following a series of protracted negotiations, the latest version of the Mining Charter was gazetted on 15 June 2018 for public comment. The closing date for submissions on the Mining Charter is Friday, 27 July 2018.

To be found within the broad metals and engineering sector are companies which are suppliers to the mining sector. In terms of the latest version of the Mining Charter, such companies stand to be affected by some aspects of the proposed legislation.
