Alph Ngapo

Interim President

Chief Marketing Officer, Arcelor Mittal South Africa

Alph Ngapo qualified with a Diploma in Accounting in 1982 from the Institution of Administration and Commerce of Southern Africa. He obtained a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree and subsequently an Honours degree in the same discipline from the University of South Africa in 1992.

Mr Ngapo also completed a Management Development Programme from the Wits School of Business in 1992 and subsequently obtained a qualification of the same name at Darden School Business (USA) in 2005. That year he returned to the Wits Business School to obtain a qualification in Senior Management Programme. Between 2003 and 2006, Mr Ngapo was a Trainee Accountant focused on his learnership towards Chartered Accountant: Financial Management Specialism with SAICA (TOPP).

He holds a Master of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa obtained in 2010.

ANTHONY-ALBERT-BOY

Anthony Albert Boy

Non-Executive Director

Human Resources Executive, Murray and Roberts (Power and Energy)

An executive at Murray and Roberts, Anthony Albert Boy holds a Master of Law (LLM) Treatise obtained in 2003 from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University with a dissertation, “Dismissal for Medical Incapacity”, which was published in 2004.

Earlier in his career, he obtained an Electronics Diploma in 1978 from the College for Advanced Technical Education. Following this, he obtained a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of South Africa in 1985.

With a passion for law, Mr Boy obtained a qualification in Labour Law earlier on in his career – in 1992 – from the University of Port Elizabeth. Subsequently, he focused on the Management Development Programme for General Managers with the University of South Africa, which he obtained in 1994.

Elias Monage

Non-Executive Director

Executive Chairman, Arabela Holdings (Pty) Ltd

Elias Monage has extensive experience in business and is the Executive Chairman of Arabela Holdings (Pty) Ltd. His experience has seen him become the Black Business Council NEDLAC Convener and the President of CAPES. He is also a Director at Steloy Castings.

Mr Monage obtained a degree in Insolvency Law and Practice at Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) – now known as the University of Johannesburg. He has also studied Telecommunication, Regulation Policy and Management at the University of the Witswatersrand, over and above a qualification in Executive Coaching from the University of California (UC Berkely). He is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Engineering Business Management.

Ellen Veldhoven

Non-Executive Director

Ellen Veldhoven is the Group Human Resources Manager of the Zimco Group (Pty) Ltd. She has 30 years’ experience in human resources and senior management positions in the metals and engineering sector.

Ms Veldhoven holds a Diploma in Personnel Management from the Institute of Administration and Commerce, as well as BA and B.Ed degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Andrea Moz

Non-Executive Director

Andrea Moz is the Chief Executive Officer of Auto Industrial Group. He has 23 years’ experience in senior management positions in the metals and related industries.

A Chartered Accountant, Mr Moz holds a B.Com degree, with majors in Accounting, Business Economics and Commercial Law, from the University of the Witwatersrand and a B.Compt. Honours degree in Management Accounting, Taxation, Auditing and Information Systems from the University of South Africa.

Mayleen Kyster

Non-Executive Director

Mayleen Kyster is the Founding Director of boutique investment holding company Africa Steel Holdings and the Managing Director of RSC Avelo (Pty) Ltd. She has extensive steel industry experience.

Ms Kyster sits on various Boards as a Non-Executive Director and participates in industry forums such as SASSDA and the Northern Cape Metals Industrial Cluster. She holds a Certificate in Project Management and a B.Com from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as an MBA from North-West University.

She is passionate about industry transformation, youth development and entrepreneurship and, through her foundation Alpha Foundation Africa, is a keen activist and speaker at events where she encourages women and the youth to be active participants in shaping their future and in their respective industries’ transformation agendas.

Kaizer M. Nyatsumba, Cert Dir (IoDSA)

Chief Executive Officer

Kaizer Nyatsumba joined SEIFSA on 1 November 2013 as Chief Executive Officer. He has previously worked as Managing Director of KMN Consulting, Vice-President: Corporate Affairs and Shared Services at PetroSA, Group General Manager: Corporate Affairs, Marketing and BEE at Sasol Limited, Public Affairs and Communications Director at Coca-Cola South Africa, as well as Head: Corporate Marketing and Vice-President: Corporate Affairs at Anglo American South Africa. An author and previously a journalist, Nyatsumba has also worked as Political Editor and Executive Editor of The Star, Deputy Editor of The Mercury, founding Editor of The Independent on Saturday, Editor of the Daily News (the last three titles in Durban) and Associate Editor of The Independent in London.

A Certified Director (IoDSA), Nyatsumba holds an MBA from the University of Hull, a BA Honours degree from Georgetown University in Washington DC, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand, an Advanced Management Diploma from the University of Pretoria’s Gordon’s Institute of Business Science, a Leadership Development Diploma from the Harvard Business School in Boston and a Diploma in Journalism from the Newspaper Institute of America in New York.

Nyatsumba has served on the Boards of the 2010 (World Cup) Big Company, the Anglo American Chairman’s Fund, the Anglo American Medical Aid Scheme, Business Against Crime, National Business Initiative, Tourism Business Council of South Africa and on the Council of the University of Zululand.

LUCIO-TRENTINI

Lucio Trentini

Operations Director

Lucio Trentini joined SEIFSA in 1990 as an Industrial Relations Advisor. Over the last two decades, he has been involved at management and executive level at SEIFSA and has been actively involved in the leadership of the federation.

A key member of the metal and engineering industry wage negotiating team, Trentini holds a BA in Economics and Industrial Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of the Witwatersrand and the Graduate School of Business Administration respectively. He also holds an Expert Negotiator Certificate issued by the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).

Bridgette Mokoetle

Company Secretary

Bridgette Mokoetle joined SEIFSA in April 2014 as a Legal Executive and Company Secretary. She has previously worked as Corporate Services Manager at the Construction Education and Training Authority, HR Manager: Legal Compliance at Fraser Alexander Bulk Mech and as an Associate and a Senior Associate at Brink Cohen Le Roux Inc.

Mokoetle holds an LLB degree from the University Johannesburg and has finished her course work for an LLM at the University of South Africa.

Rajendra Rajcoomar

Chief Financial Officer

Rajendra Rajcoomar joined SEIFSA in May 2014 as a Chief Financial Officer. He has previously worked as Financial Manager for DPI Plastics, Chief Financial Officer at the FoodBev SETA, Financial Manager at Phambili Wasteman and Financial Accountant at Unitrans Freight.

Rajcoomar holds a B.Com in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Durban-Westville, a B.Com Honours in Business Management from the University of South Africa, a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the Rand Afrikaans University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa and an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Michael Ade

Chief Economist and Economics and Commercial Executive

Michael Ade joined SEIFSA on 1 August 2017 as Chief Economist. He holds a B.Com from the University of Buea in Cameroon, a B.Com Honours in General and Financial Economics and an M.Com in Economic Development and Policy Issues from the University of Johannesburg, as well as a Ph.D in Public Economics (Taxation) and International Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand. He also holds certificates in International Trade and Commodity Finance, Export Management and Econometric Analysis of Panel Data.

Prior to joining SEIFSA, Dr Ade worked for the South African Revenue Service as Director: Capacity Development, Programmes and Research. He has previously worked as Chief Economist at Productivity South Africa, Transitional and Technical Manager at ABSA Bank and Group Accountant at Afrikings, the marketing wing of Vodacom.

Bridgette Mokoetle

Industrial Relations and Legal Services Executive

Bridgette Mokoetle joined SEIFSA in April 2014 as a Legal Executive and Company Secretary. Nonhlalo Mphofu

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Executive

Nonhlalo Mphofu joined SEIFSA in 2009 as a Health and Safety Manager. She has ten years working experience in occupational health, safety, environment and quality. She has previously worked at QK Meats South Africa and Coca Cola Shanduka Beverages.

Mphofu holds a BTech degree in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Johannesburg.

She was appointed Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Executive in 2013.

MELANIE-MULHOLLAND

Melanie Mulholland

Human Capital and Skills Development Executive

Melanie Mulholland joined SEIFSA in 2010 as the Skills Development Manager. She has more than 20 years’ experience in training and development as well as extensive skills development experience, having worked at BANKSETA for eight years.

Melanie holds a BA Degree in Human and Social Sciences. She also holds a higher certificate – Leadership Development Programme from GIBS and numerous professional training courses qualifications. She is a registered as a HR Professional specialising in Learning and Development with SABPP and is a registered Skills Development Practioner with ASDSA. Melanie represents business’ interests at various platforms such as Merseta, BUSA, SASCE and African Academy.
