About SEIFSA Human Capital & Skills Development
SEIFSA’s Skills Development & Human Capital Services team plays a major role in co-ordinating the views of business and lobbying for employer-friendly policies at national strategic level through Business Unity South Africa (Busa). SEIFSA is also active in the management of the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Education and Training Authority (merSETA).
SEIFSA member companies have access to free telephone assistance on matters including:
- Skills development legislation
- General Merseta information
- Seta Management System (SMS)
- Appointment and training of Skills Development Facilitators (SDFs)
- Mandatory & Discretionary Grant submissions (Workplace Skills Plan (WSP), PIVOTAL Plan (PP) , Annual Training Report (ATR) and PIVOTAL Training Report (PTR))
- Apprenticeship training
- Engineering bursaries and scholarships
- Training of Training Committees
Skills Development & Human Capital Services offers customised workshops covering skills development legislation, preparation of workplace skills plans and annual trainings reports, and provides companies with guidelines that will enable them to maximise their grant payments. A range of highly interactive training courses customised for Merseta SDFs and training managers are run by our team of qualified professionals.
Skills Development & Human Capital Team Profiles
Melanie is the Human Capital and Skills Development Executive at SEIFSA and is an extremely motivated and dedicated skills development professional with more than 20 years’ experience in training and development. She is a results driven individual with a proven record of consistently delivering service excellence and assured quality within deadlines and budgets.
She uses strong communication and facilitation skills to establish excellent working relationships with clients, stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. Melanie possesses extensive skills development experience having worked at BANKSETA for 8 years.
Melanie actively pursues opportunities to gain new skills and experience, having graduated with a BA Degree in Human and Social Sciences. She also holds a higher certificate - Leadership Development Programme from GIBS Business School and numerous professional training courses.
Khanya currently holds the title of Human Capital & Skills Development Manager at SEIFSA. He joined SEIFSA with more than 19 years’ experience in the HC & SD field. He is passionate about systematic people development. He believes in structures, systems and processes. Khanya is well presented, highly motivated and organized. He’s a very strong hardworking professional with good communication skills and works well in a team.
He holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Swaziland, a Leadership Development Certificate and a Certificate in Executive Development, both from Wits Business School. He also holds a Certificate in Project Management from Regenesys School of Public Management. He is a qualified Workplace Assessor.
He has worked for the Ministry of Education (Swaziland), Goldfields South Africa (in the mining sector), City Power Johannesburg as well as Usizo Technical Services as a Human Capital Manager with key emphasis on human capital development.)
