SEIFSA’s Economic and Commercial Services Division is introducing a half-yearly Economic Focus.

The first publication covers:

• The global economy is reflecting the impact of sustained fiscal and monetary stimulus 
• South African growth prospects have improved 
• Global steel demand set to improve, owing to strong growth in China 
• Metal and engineering industry made employment gains, in the period Q4:2009 to Q1:2010 
• Recent weakening of the rand proved supportive of the growth of manufactured exports.
